How To Get The Best Deal
Help holiday home hosts keep their prices lower by:
- Booking direct
- Like their social media posts
- Share their social media posts
- Comment on their social media posts
- Tag a friend
- Shout them out
- Leave a review*
- Tag or mention them in a photo you post

If you find something less than satisfactory, missing or not working at your accommodation, always contact the host at the earliest opportunity while you are staying at the property. Even if it is just something that is niggling you, always give the host the opportunity to resolve it during your stay. Hosts are keen for you to have the best experience and, once you have left, the opportunity has gone.
If you have constructive feedback for the host, message them directly by phone or email in the first instance. Feedback is essential for hosts to figure out what improvements they might need to make for future and returning guests. A review is NOT the right place to do this, and certainly not before making the host aware.
If you have followed the above etiquette, you can now go ahead and leave a review – the most important factor here is to write a genuine and balanced one, including any issues that were resolved satisfactorily, as this lets the host know their efforts were appreciated.
Hosts do not take kindly to disingenuous reviews, or the threat of one in an attempt to get money back after the event (yes, unbelievably, a small minority have tried this in the past). On the flip side, you might be pleasantly surprised how appreciative hosts can be when receiving a good review, or following constructive feedback.
If you truly find fault with your accommodation, try to resolve the matter amicably with the host first. If that fails then you have every right to take the matter further.
